Hey all!!

I have been a busy bee these days~ I just wanted to do a quick project 'drive-by' show and tell!! First up, I have joined a swap at Mini Album Scraps - teeny tiny itty bitty mini's..

The books had to be no bigger than 1.5 x1" in size! It has to hang like a charm, complete with jump rings and finished inside pages.. You can watch my youtube video for more information on this project.  We had to create 4 of them.. so here is what I came up with...

 

So Cute and Tiny, right? Love it!

 

Ok, for the next project..I sent some goodies to my friend Jaizella from LavishLaces on etsy! Guys please check her out - her laces are fabulous!! I altered a box, made a handmade journal with tea dyed pages, altered bottle caps, large and small clothespins, card, handmade flowers and a set of stickpins inside a handmade lace sack! I loved how everything turned out and she did too!! Here comes the pics..

 Ok, now we are on to the Altered Spice Rak I completed for THE SCRAPING QUEENS OF 2013 YOUTUBE HOP!!  As you may know, I am one of the hostess of this Awesome group. This month's theme was 'Spring Cleaning - Use What You Got'.. I purchased this spice rak from a thrift store over 6 months ago to alter. I never got around to it..Finally, I did..here are the pics..

**Embellishment Swap - Closed and Swapping**

Hey All!   I have another swap idea!! Yay!!

I have been thinking of all sorts of ways to use my scraps. The last swap (Gift Set) turned out to be a huge success! You basically didnt have to buy anything..I hope :)

This one will Rock as well! I have gotten so addicted to making these - that I have plenty to share. Hopefully, you will enjoy them as well. Ok, on with the show!

There are two different groups you can join: Bottle Caps or Clothespins. Here are some examples:

 

So Cute!!! Makes you want to make some, right?? Here are the rules and requirements:

 

BOTTLE CAPS:

 

*There will be groups of 4 for this swap. This means you make (3) sets of (3) caps for your group.

 

*All of the bottle caps must have some sort of paper or image on it. (no naked caps:)

 

*Please apply a sealant over your images/paper (i.e. epoxy sticker, glossy accents, diamond glaze) 

 

*(1) bottle cap must be a dangle/charm - this means you have to cover the front AND back

 

*The bottle caps must be adhered to some type of tag for display

 

*Package you bottle caps in nice/neat packaging

 

*DO YOUR BEST AND BE CREATIVE!!!

 

 

 

ALTERED CLOTHESPINS

 

*There will be groups of (5) for this group. This means that you make (4) sets of (3) for your group.

 

*All of the clothespins must be covered (FRONT AND BACK) with patterened paper/washi tape

 

*You must ONLY use decorative paper from Prima, Recollections, G45, My Minds Eye OR Washi tape

 

*(1) Clothespin must have an altered element (i.e. brad, charm/dangle, bling, pearl..etc)

 

*Package up your swap in nice/neat packaging

 

*DO YOUR BEST AND BE CREATIVE!!

 

 

Whew!! I think that's it for the requirements. It sounds like a lot - but really it's quick, easy and fun!

GIFT SET SWAP

Hey all!!

Well, here we are with the first swap of 2013! Yay!! I am so excited (which I think I always am) to host this swap. It's not a 3x3 note card - although I have to say those are my favorite. It's not an A2 card, or an ATC...What is it you say? Here are  a few pics of what I had in mind:

Ain't they CUTE??? I love how they turned out- and you will too! This is a great time to pull out those awesome scrap pieces of laces and trims and put them to good use.  Remember when you said, 'I want to do more swaps, get more involved in the scrap community..etc'? Here is your chance. Leave a message on the original YOUTUBE video, if you want to play along. I will only gather groups from there. 

***HERE ARE THE RULES, REQUIREMENTS AND OTHER STUFF***

* You will be in groups of 4 - this means make 4 send 3 in to me

* Once the swap sign-ups have closed - groups will be posted below, in case you want to personalize your gift set.

* Create a handmade flower - it can be made from lace, ribbon, trim or paper

* Create a pair of stick pins - must have two pearls/beads at least 1 spacer/cap

* Create a standard tag, stamp, ink, distress or spritz/spray your tag - so that the person receiving it may be able to use it after the set is gone-nothing demensional

* Wrap 3 DIFFERENT 18" pieces of lace, trim, seam binding around the tag you altered

* Each SET can be different (color, style..etc) BUT the set itself must coordinate- this means that the flower, trim and pins must MATCH each other in the set. But the next set can be totally different.

*Be sure to include your information somewhere on the packaging.

*Please package your gift set as YOU would like to receive it - do your best!!

* Please send you package with a return envelope, at least the same amount of postage it took to mail it in - plus two stamps. I will return all unused postage.

The package must be postmarked by Feburary 25th (please)!!

If you are going to be late/absent please let me know as soon as you can - so I can find an angel swapper.

Vintage Shabby Butterfly Shaped Mini Album

Hey all!!

Well I guess I'm on a roll, huh? Today I have a special project for you. I design for The Cutting Cafe and this week's design team project was to use the Butterfly shaped card, the Onesie shaped card, The Crown shaped card or the Overall shaped card. They are all SO CUTE!!

I chose to use the Butterfly shaped card - as a base for my mini album. I have a video here on my YouTube channel - if you want more detailed information. (You can also find the video below this post)  Here are some pics:

This is the front and back cover. After I cut the shape out via my Cricut Expressions, I traced the image on top of some cardboard. I then used mod podge to adhere canvas on the cardboard. I painted the inside with some cream color paint and applied the patterened paper. I sprayed the canvas with various glimmer and shimmer mists - both store bought and homemade. Let's take a look at the inside pages:

Both sides of the butterfly are covered with patterened paper and a small amount of embellishments. I kept it simple - to have room for pictures.

Another Challenge/Another Card?!

Hey all!!

Yes, I'm going at it, lol!! I am absolutely loving the challenges that I'm participating in. This challenge is bought to us by Leasy46 on Youtube. Her challenge was to create any birthday card and submit a video response. Here is the video I submited (soon).

She will in turn, just for participating send you a small birthday rak on YOUR birthday! How cool is that? In addition to that- she is giving away a prize NOW to a lucky winner! I hope that's me, lol!

Ain't it CUTE?? I just love these Prima papers! They are sooo vintage and shabby - all in one! What do you think?

Yes, Another Card!!

Hey Everybody!!

I promise, for those of you reading today - this is my last post of the day.  I gave myself a 15 minute challenge to create a card. I LOVE the card that I did with the box. Since I already had a sketch - I decided to dupe it - with different colors. This card went to my friend Donna.  I finished the card in 20 minutes - but who's counting? lol!

 

So CUTE!!! I love how this turn out..I hope you got a chance to check out the original card (in blue and yellow) to see what I went off of..

Hey all!!

Ok, here is another card I created for a YT challenge. I'm starting to get more and more into the challenges AND as a added bonus my HOARD VAULT! What is the point of buying all this gorgeous stuff - and not use it? It's hard - I'll be the first to admit it..

Anywhoo, here is the video I created for the challenge hosted by craftychica87 and lavishlaces. The challenge was to use a sexy man on the cover of your card, three words to describe why you think he's sexy and stickles. Here is what I came up with..

 

Ain't he SEXY??? I can say that because that is my fiance, Robert. He was willing to do a 'home' photo shoot for me to enter the challenge! Thanks so much honey for being a great sport! I love you!

Card Making Mood

Hey Everybody!!

Loooong time no seee! I'm happy to be posting back again..I've been doing videos a lot, but I'm getting back into the habbit of posting. So let's get to it.

Today, I have THREE posts for you (gotta catch up right?) So I'll start with a challenge that I participated in. (which by the way - I'll be doing more of) This was a YT challenge hosted by BaCraftyGirl. Some of these post will have videos attached. Here is the video of what I created. What? Paper Jewelry?!

Yes, you read it right! Paper jewelry - who wouldda thunk it? To my surprise this has been around for a while -nobody told me, though :(  The Cutting Cafe has just created some AWESOME paper beading files, boxes and earring holders! You absolutely have to check her out! You can not only use the boxes as great gift giving packages - but if you are one who does crafts fairs - this is an excellent way to display your projects!!

Take a look see at what I did with just ONE of the files..Beware- I'm Addicted!!

Below is a bracelet that I made for my son - it is using a different shaped file (also included in the set :) Take a look...

 

He is gone to love this!! It looks just like the ones he already wears -only I made it..WITH PAPER!

Christmas Themed 3x3 Note Card Swap

Well guys...here we are again!! I just love making these cute little buggers - don't you? This month we will be gearing up for a Merry and Bright Christmas - with Note Cards!

The requirements are simple:

*Must make the required amount of 3x3 note cards (GROUPS BELOW)

*Must be Christmas themed  any colors are fine - just needs to follow the theme.

*There has to be at least 2 embellishments on your card. An example can be buttons, flowers, lace, trims, beads, charms..etc (this can definately be done- ive seen it!)

*You must include an envelope (you can buy or make these yourself)

*When you are packaging your swap, please be sure to have your yt/name/group on the package - so that I can identify you awesome creations

*All cards have to be the same (or very similar)

*Please include a return envelope with AT LEAST the same amount of postage that it took to mail it
